Organisations with which WSKF in Australia is affiliated
In Australia the World Shotokan Karate-do Federation (WSKF) links to karate and other sporting organisations and government bodies locally, nationally and internationally. We have been connected to these organisations for many years and support them, as they support us, in our karate endeavours.
The benefits for all our members from these affiliations are numerous. From being able to take part in coaching seminars approved by government authorities, to participation in karate competitions, both locally and nationally and even up to international level and soon, in 2020, able to have a clear pathway to compete at Olympic level at the Tokyo Olympics which is something the karate community has been working on for many years. This latter achievement by the way, has taken a number of years to come to fruition and only members of the Australian Government recognised karate body – the Australian Karate Federation – can participate.
At a dojo level, our karate clubs in Perth and country Victoria may themselves have links to local community or sporting organisations. Either visit the club’s web site or their Facebook page for more details.
We hope the information provided on these pages is of interest to you and if further details are required please contact us.
